Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how KeepTab (“KeepTab”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) handles information when you use the KeepTab mobile application.
In short: KeepTab has no accounts, no servers and no analytics. The countdowns, count-ups, dates, notes, photos and preferences you add are written to your own device and stay there. We do not receive a copy of them.
1. Information You Provide to Us
KeepTab does not require an account, and there is no account to create. We do not ask for your name, email address, phone number, or any sign-in details in order to use the app.
Information you enter into KeepTab — such as the names of your Tabs, dates, notes, categories, reminder times, an optional birthdate for the life count, and pictures you choose for cards — is saved on your device. It is not transmitted to us.
If you choose to email us for support, we will receive whatever you include in that message (such as your email address and the details of your question). We use it only to respond to you.
2. Information Stored on Your Device
KeepTab is a local application. Everything you create in it — countdowns, count-ups, dates, milestones, notes, reminder settings, inbox history, an optional birthdate, card images, and app preferences such as theme and date format — is stored in your device’s own app storage.
Because we do not hold a copy of this information, we cannot recover it for you. If you want a backup, use the export feature described in section 10.
Deleting the application, erasing your data from within the app, or clearing the app’s storage permanently removes this information from your device.
3. Accounts and Cloud Synchronization
KeepTab does not currently offer accounts, cloud synchronization, or cross-device backup, and does not transmit your content to any server operated by us or on our behalf.
If account or synchronization functionality is introduced in a future version, it will be optional, and this Privacy Policy will be updated to describe that processing before such functionality handles your personal information.
4. Automatically Collected Information
KeepTab does not automatically collect usage information, device identifiers, advertising identifiers, or location information, and it does not build a profile of you.
The app checks whether your device currently has a network connection so that it can tell you when it is offline. This check happens on your device. It does not send your data anywhere.
While your device is online, KeepTab asks the application store it came from whether a newer version is available, so that it can offer to update. On Android this goes through Google Play’s in-app update service; on iOS the app requests KeepTab’s public App Store listing from Apple, naming the store region for your chosen country. The request identifies only KeepTab, not you, and contains none of your Tabs, dates, notes, photos or preferences. As with any internet request, the store receives your device’s IP address and handles it under its own privacy policy.
5. Analytics
KeepTab contains no analytics software. We do not measure how you use the app, which screens you open, or which features you rely on.
6. Crash Reporting
KeepTab contains no crash-reporting or diagnostics software, and we do not receive crash logs or performance data from your device.
Where you install KeepTab through an application store, that store’s own operating-system-level crash and diagnostics reporting may apply independently of the app, under the store provider’s terms and your device settings.
7. Notifications
KeepTab uses local device notifications to remind you about the dates, deadlines, events and milestones you have set up.
These reminders are scheduled and delivered entirely by your device. Nothing about a reminder is sent to us, and KeepTab does not use push notifications delivered from a server.
You can grant or withdraw notification permission at any time in your device settings. Declining it means reminders will not arrive; everything else in KeepTab continues to work.
8. Microphone and Voice Input
The current version of KeepTab does not use the microphone. Adding a Tab by speaking is shown in the app marked “SOON” and cannot be started, and the Android build does not request microphone permission at all.
When that feature arrives, speech recognition will be performed by your device’s own speech service. On some devices this happens entirely on the device, and on others the operating-system provider — Apple or Google — processes the audio under its own privacy policy and your device settings. KeepTab will not store a recording of your voice, and will not send audio to us.
This Policy will be updated before voice input ships, and you will be able to decline or revoke microphone permission in your device settings; only voice input would be affected.
9. Photos and Card Images
If you choose a picture for a card, KeepTab asks your device for access to your photo library at that moment.
The picture you select is copied into KeepTab’s own app storage on your device. It is never uploaded, and KeepTab does not read your photo library in the background or access pictures you have not selected.
10. Exporting and Sharing Your Data
KeepTab can export everything you have stored as a JSON or CSV file so that you can keep your own backup.
The export is created on your device and then handed to your device’s standard share sheet, where you choose what happens to it — for example saving it to files, or sending it through another app. Once you send an exported file to another app or service, that destination’s own privacy policy applies to it. We never receive the export.
11. Advertising
KeepTab contains no advertising and no advertising software development kits. We do not show ads, and no advertising provider receives information through the app.
12. AI-Powered Features
KeepTab does not currently include artificial-intelligence features, and nothing you enter is sent to an external AI service.
If AI-powered functionality is added in a future version, this Policy will be updated to describe what is sent, to whom, and for what purpose, before that feature processes your information.
13. Third-Party Services
KeepTab does not integrate analytics, advertising, authentication, cloud-hosting, or AI service providers.
The only third parties that can be involved in your use of KeepTab are:
- your device’s operating-system speech service, if voice input is added in a future version, as described in section 8
- the application store you downloaded KeepTab from, which handles the download, any store account matters and the update check described in section 4 under its own privacy policy
- any app or service you yourself choose as the destination when sharing an exported file
These providers act under their own terms and privacy policies, not ours.
14. Payments and Subscriptions
KeepTab is currently free and does not process payments. No payment provider is integrated into the app, and we do not receive or store payment information.
If optional paid features are introduced in a future version, payment details would be handled by the applicable store or payment provider rather than by KeepTab, and this Policy will be updated accordingly.
15. How Information Is Used
Information you enter is used on your device to:
- show your countdowns, count-ups and deadlines
- calculate elapsed and remaining time, including the optional life count
- schedule and deliver the reminders you set
- keep an inbox of what your reminders raised
- display the cards, images and preferences you have chosen
- produce an export file when you ask for one
We do not use your information for advertising or profiling, and we do not sell personal information.
16. Data Sharing
We do not share your KeepTab information, because we do not have it. Nothing you add to KeepTab is transmitted to us or to any third party by the app.
The only way information leaves your device is the one you initiate yourself: sharing an exported file to a destination you choose.
17. Data Retention
Your information remains on your device until you delete it within the app, erase all data from the app’s data and privacy settings, clear the app’s storage, or uninstall KeepTab.
We hold no copies, so there is nothing for us to retain. If you email us for support, we keep that correspondence only as long as reasonably necessary to handle your request.
18. Deleting Your Data
KeepTab includes an in-app option to erase everything — Tabs, history, photos, birthdate and preferences — from the device. Individual items can also be deleted one at a time.
Uninstalling the application removes its local data as well.
Because there is no account and no server-side copy, there is no separate account-deletion request to make. If you have questions about deletion, contact app.keeptab@gmail.com.
19. Security
KeepTab relies on the protections your device and operating system provide for app storage, and keeps your information within the app’s own storage rather than transmitting it.
No software or device can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You are responsible for the security of your device, including its passcode, screen lock, and any device-level backups you enable, which may include KeepTab’s data under your device or store provider’s terms.
20. Children’s Privacy
KeepTab is intended for users aged 13 and older.
KeepTab is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone — including children under 13 — because the app collects nothing.

Where local law establishes a higher age requirement for consent to certain data processing, applicable legal requirements may apply.
21. International Data Processing
KeepTab does not transfer your information across borders, because it does not transmit it at all.
If you share an exported file, the app or service you send it to may process that information on infrastructure in other countries under its own privacy policy.
22. Your Choices
You can:
- use every feature of KeepTab without an account
- keep all of your content on your own device
- grant or decline notification and photo permissions independently, at any time, in your device settings
- export your data as JSON or CSV and keep your own backup
- delete individual items, erase everything from within the app, or uninstall KeepTab
Additional rights may apply depending on your country or region.
23. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as KeepTab evolves — for example if optional accounts, synchronization, paid features, or AI functionality are introduced in a future version.
When we make changes, we will update the “Last updated” date on this page, and material changes affecting how personal information is handled will be reflected here before the relevant functionality processes your information. Material changes may also be communicated in the application where appropriate.
